Pete Wishart

Pete Wishart is the MP for Perth and North Perthshire and was elected in May 2005 with a majority of 1,521 over the Conservatives.

From 2001 till 2005 Pete was MP for North Tayside.

Pete is the Westminster Spokesperson for the Constitution, Home Affairs, Culture, Media and Sport and International Development.

Pete was, for 15 years, a member of the internationally successful Scottish group Runrig. He is a trained Community Worker and has been a Director of the Fast Forward charity that promotes healthy lifestyles for young people. He was a member of the Scotland Against Drugs Campaign Committee and has contributed to many national forums looking at the problem of drugs within Scottish society.



Peter Lyburn

Peter, who has lived in Perthshire all his life, was born in Ninewells Hospital and went to Coupar Angus Primary and Strathallan School, Perth. After school Peter attended the Scottish Agricultural College in Edinburgh.

Peter's work involves him travelling all over the UK managing the expansion of a UK wide recycling firm but he is based at the family farm in Coupar Angus.

Peter has previously stood for the Scottish Parliament in 2007 in Dunfermline West where he increased the Conservative vote after his campaigns to reach out to all corners of the community.



Jamie Glackin

Jamie Glackin is a lifelong supporter of the Labour Party. The dad of one has lived in Perth since 1984. Jamie attended St Columba's High School before becoming an engineering apprentice at NARO Almondbank (now Vector Aerospace). He completed studies at both Perth College and Scone Aerodrome and he is in the process of completing a Masters degree at the University of Dundee. He's worked in the heating industry for many years specialising in renewable energy.


Peter Barrett

Peter is a hardworking local councillor for Perth City who champions the causes of care for the elderly, action on homelessness and affordable housing as Convenor of Housing and Health.

Peter lives in Perth, with his wife Liz and two teenage sons, one studying at university and the other in his final year at Perth High School.

Since his election to the Council in 2003, where Peter won his seat from third place, beating the Conservatives and leapfrogging the SNP, Peter was convincingly re-elected as the Lib Dem councillor for Perth City Centre in 2007.

Peter fought the Perth constituency at the Scottish Parliament election in 2007 moving one place closer to winning and increasing the Lib Dem share of the vote. Peter and stood as a Scottish Parliament list candidate for our area in 2007 and in 2003.
