![]() Mike Crockart Mike Crockart has been selected to fight the Edinburgh West seat for the Liberal Democrats following the announcement from current MP John Barrett that he does not intend to stand at the next General Election. Mike Crockart was born and brought up in Perth, before moving to study Politics at Edinburgh University in 1984. Over the last 25 years, Mike has worked in a range of positions, including as a Lothians and Borders police officer for eight years and as an IT Project Manager for Standard Life for eleven years. Mike has campaigned for the Liberal Democrats in Edinburgh since 1985 and has been a candidate in Edinburgh three times in the last 5 years. In the 2005 General election he achieved an eight per cent swing from Labour to the Liberal Democrats, narrowly missing out on the Edinburgh North & Leith seat. | |
![]() Stewart Geddes Stewart Geddes joined the Conservative party in 2001. After school he joined a major Scottish bank, qualifying professionally as a banker and later as a Chartered Management Accountant. He has served as a district councilor and as chairman of the local Conservative Association. | |
![]() Sheena Cleland Sheena is the SNP's candidate for Edinburgh West, and has stood for Parliament three times - in 2007, 2005 and 2003. In the 2007 election for the Scottish Parliament, she achieved the party's best ever result in that seat, overtaking both Labour and the Conservatives to come second to the incumbent LibDems. Sheena has worked with a number of the party's MSPs and one MEP. She currently works part-time at Holyrood for Roseanna Cunningham MSP, and also runs her own translation business. Educated at The Mary Erskine School, the University of Edinburgh and Napier University, Sheena is married and lives in Turnhouse. | |
