Sir Robert Smith

Sir Robert Smith entered Parliament at his second attempt in 1997.

After attending Merchant Taylors School, he studied mathematics at Aberdeen University.  He then returned home to become manager of his family's estate.
Robert became an Aberdeenshire Councillor in 1995.  After being elected to parliament he served in the Transport and Environment team, then was Scottish Whip from 1999 to 2001. He served as Scottish Affairs Spokesman and member of the Scottish Affairs Committee from 2001 to 2003, and as Deputy Chief Whip from 2001 to 2006. In 2005 Sir Robert became  the party's Energy Spokesman and in 2007 he was appointed Shadow Deputy Leader of the House of Commons.
 
Additionally, Robert is Joint Vice Chair of the UK Offshore Oil & Gas Industry Group and Treasurer of the House of Commons Yacht Club.


Alex Johnstone

Alex Johnstone MSP is married to Linda and they have two children. Before being an MSP he was a dairy and arable farmer and was active in the Young Farmers movement both at local and national level. Alex contested the West Aberdeenshire seat at the last Westminster election.


Dennis Robertson

Dennis was born in Aberdeen in 1956. He was educated at the Royal School for the Blind in Edinburgh. David is currently a charity worker. He was the SNP candidate for West Aberdeenshire and Kincardine at the 2007 Scottish Parliament elections, when he came second and increased the SNP vote by over 12%.  


Greg Williams

Greg Williams lives in Aberdeen and works in the local oil industry. His political interests include tackling anti-social behaviour and alcoholism, the role of renewable energy in Scotland's economy and building integrated transport networks. In his spare time Greg enjoys playing the guitar and drums, and walking in the Cairngorms. He studied medieval history at Oxford and York.
