![]() James Tolson MSP Born on the 26th May 1965, Jim Tolson is a Cllr for Fife Council and represents the Council Ward of Garvock & Carnegie. He has been a Liberal Democrat member since 1989 and a councillor since 1992. He has been a campaigner for road safety on the council. He stood in the 2003 Scottish Parliament Elections for the seat of Dumferline West picking up 14.41 % of the vote coming fourth in an election which saw eight candidates go head to head at the polls. He is married, and holds an Honours degree in network computing. | |
![]() Scott Barrie First elected to represent the constituency in 1999, Scott Barrie was re-elected for the same seat in 2003. In addition to being a member of the Parliament's Communities Committee, Scott is also Convener of the Edinburgh Airport Rail Link Bill Committee and Chief Whip for the Labour Group of MSPs. His interest in children's social work led him to take a role in the controversy over Executive plans, abandoned in 2002, to ban the smacking of children. Prior to becoming an MSP, Barrie worked for Fife Regional Council in the social work department. | |

![]() Peter Lyburn Peter was born at Nine Wells in Dundee; he then went on to attend Strathallan School and is completing a BSc of Agriculture in Edinburgh. He is currently involved with the family farming business near Coupar Angus and has a keen interest in all aspects of rural life. Peter's work at the Scottish Parliament has ensured that he has a strong footing on the mechanics of the political process in Scotland. He is also a member of the conservative think tank 'The Tuesday Club.' In his spare time Peter loves spending time on the football pitch or inadvertently raising his handicap on the golf course. He is also heavily involved in charity work including organising the Edinburgh Charity Fashion Show which this year made a donation to Macmillan Cancer Support and Students Supporting Street Kids. | |
